# How do I delete my account?

If you would like to permanently close your Village Co sitter account, contact us and we will take care of it.

How to request account deletion:

- Email: support@thevillageco.nz with subject line Account deletion request
- Include the email address associated with your account

Before you request deletion:

- Make sure any upcoming confirmed bookings are cancelled
- Ensure any outstanding payments have been processed

What happens when your account is deleted:

- Your profile is removed from the platform
- Your reviews are removed from public view
- Your earnings and booking history are retained for legal and tax purposes for a period required by NZ law
- Your Stripe account connection is disconnected
