# How do I pause my account?

If you need a break from bookings, you can pause your account without losing your profile, reviews, or booking history.

How to pause your account:

1. Log in to app.thevillageco.nz
2. Go to your profile
3. Find Work Status
4. Set your status to Unavailable
5. Save

What happens when you pause:

- Your profile is hidden from new family matches
- Existing confirmed bookings are not affected
- Your reviews and booking history are preserved
- You can reactivate at any time by switching back to Available

If you know you will be unavailable for an extended period (eg overseas, study, new job), let us know at support@thevillageco.nz. We can note this on your account.

Pausing is different from deleting your account. If you want to permanently close your account, contact us at support@thevillageco.nz.
