How do I make my first booking?

Once your family profile is complete and you've been matched with a sitter, booking is straightforward.

Here's how:

Step 1: Log in to app.thevillageco.nz

Step 2: Go to your dashboard
You'll see your recommended sitters, or you can rebook a favourite sitter you've used before.

Step 3: Click "Book" on a sitter's profile
Choose your booking type (one-off or recurring), select your date, start time, and end time.

Step 4: Select which children
Choose which of your children will be in the sitter's care for this booking.

Step 5: Add your suburb and any notes
Let the sitter know anything useful - parking, bedtime routines, allergies, or anything else.

Step 6: Review and confirm
You'll see a full cost breakdown (sitter rate + service fee) before you confirm. No surprises. Once confirmed, your sitter will be notified and you'll receive a booking confirmation by email.
