What does the vetting process involve?

Before you can accept bookings, every Village Co sitter completes a five-step vetting process.

  1. Application review

We review your application for genuine experience with children, clear communication, and the right values.

  1. Profile completion

You complete your profile including bio, experience, qualifications, rate, availability, and a profile photo.

  1. NZ Police check

You upload a current criminal record check from justice.govt.nz. Free to request and takes 1 to 3 days.

  1. ID verification

You verify your identity using a government-issued document. Takes about 2 minutes.

  1. Welcome call

A relaxed 5 to 10 minute video call with Nikki or Sophia. We want to say hello before you go live.

Once you pass all five steps, your profile goes live and families can be matched with you. We aim to review and approve profiles within 1 to 2 business days after the welcome call.
